Rahab Uganda has a specific mission: to restore the self-image of girls and young women affected by sexual exploitation and human trafficking and empower them to proactively engage in personal transformation. In addition to fighting human trafficking and exploitation, Rahab runs a residential shelter in Kasangati Gayaza that provides holistic services to children and young people between (9 -18 years) who have been victims of trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. Rahab also operates and runs a drop-in centre that offers psychosocial support, education, economic skills development, early childhood development, health and nutrition services.Since 2005, their outreach programme has reached 15,000 children and has fully served 400 girls.

Sandra Jones Center-Children’s Home
Donate nowThe Sandra Jones Centre has been running for over 25 years and is committed to serving the children in our community. They rescue, accommodate, and rehabilitate abandoned, abused and at-risk children referred to us by the social welfare system. Our aim is to meet the emotional, social, academic and spiritual needs of at-risk and traumatised children by providing an interim crisis care facility. We strive to give children a second-chance at life, despite their circumstances, through the means of education, trauma care, and a safe and loving home.
We are requesting $10000 to refurbish the solar energy system at our children’s home, which is crucial for providing reliable power to support the daily needs of the children. Our plan includes the installation of a new inverter, two high-capacity batteries, and additional solar panels to enhance the system’s efficiency and capacity.
Additionally, we aim to upgrade the solar systems powering our two boreholes, as the current setups are insufficient to operate effectively. By improving these solar infrastructures, we will ensure a consistent energy supply, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for the children while also enhancing water access and management in our facility. This initiative is vital for promoting sustainability, reducing operational costs, and ultimately improving the quality of life for the children we serve.

Shekinah Glory Organisation

The centre offers free, four-month residential programs in carpentry, welding, and sewing, complete with start-up kits and employment linkages upon graduation. Currently, 80 trainees are enrolled. Alongside its children’s home, which cares for 20 children aged three weeks to 16, SGO’s integrated model of residential care and practical skills development makes it a unique and impactful institution. Simukai Child Protection Programme (Simukai CPP)
