Queen Elizabeth Adventist Children’s Home (QUEACH)

Queen Elizabeth Adventist Children’s Home (QUEACH), a registered residential institution established in 1952, is the oldest orphanage in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. Founded by the Bulawayo Child Welfare Society and later entrusted to the Seventh-day Adventist Church in 1984, QUEACH has provided a safe and nurturing home for orphans and abandoned children for over 70 years.

Through shelter, education, spiritual care, and life-skills development, QUEACH empowers vulnerable children to grow in dignity, hope, and self-reliance. Generations of children have passed through its gates, many becoming thriving adults who contribute back to society.

We are now seeking to raise $10,000 to support daily care, education, and facility upgrades at the Home, ensuring that every child receives nutritious meals, access to schooling, and a safe environment in which to grow.

Your gift will help more children find stability, receive the education they deserve, and build brighter futures filled with hope and opportunity.

    Sandra Jones Center-Children’s Home

The Sandra Jones Centre has been running for over 25 years and is committed to serving the children in our community.  They rescue, accommodate, and rehabilitate abandoned, abused and at-risk children referred to us by the social welfare system. Our aim is to meet the emotional, social, academic and spiritual needs of at-risk and traumatised children by providing an interim crisis care facility.  We strive to give children a second-chance at life, despite their circumstances, through the means of education, trauma care, and a safe and loving home.

We are requesting $10000 to refurbish the solar energy system at our children’s home, which is crucial for providing reliable power to support the daily needs of the children. Our plan includes the installation of a new inverter, two high-capacity batteries, and additional solar panels to enhance the system’s efficiency and capacity.

Additionally, we aim to upgrade the solar systems powering our two boreholes, as the current setups are insufficient to operate effectively. By improving these solar infrastructures, we will ensure a consistent energy supply, fostering a safe and nurturing environment for the children while also enhancing water access and management in our facility. This initiative is vital for promoting sustainability, reducing operational costs, and ultimately improving the quality of life for the children we serve.

    St Joseph House for Boys

Since 1929, St Joseph House has been a refuge for boys with nowhere else to turn — children who are orphaned, abandoned, abused, or neglected. Today, 55 boys call this house their only home.

But the house that has protected them for generations is in urgent need of refurbishment. Cracks in the walls, worn-out facilities, and unsafe spaces now threaten the very children it was built to shelter. Without repairs, their safety and dignity are at risk.

We are raising $15,000 to refurbish St Joseph House, ensuring the boys can grow up in a safe, nurturing environment — with strong walls, secure spaces, and renewed hope.

Every contribution will help restore not just a building, but the childhoods of 55 vulnerable boys who deserve protection, stability, and a chance to dream again.
