Donate nowOn Sunday, 13 July 2025, a devastating fire tore through Mount Selinda Orphanage in Chipinge, Zimbabwe, leaving behind a trail of destruction and despair. The fire destroyed dormitories, classrooms, and stores—leaving dozens of vulnerable children without shelter, food, clothing, or school supplies.
Founded in 1955, Mount Selinda Orphanage has served as a refuge for orphaned, abandoned, and at-risk children—offering them not just a place to sleep, but a place to heal, grow, and belong.
Today, that safe haven lies in ruins.

Percy Ibbotson Probation Hostel
Donate nowPercy Ibbotson Probation Hostel is a boys only rehabilitation center which was established in the early 1930s for children in conflict with the law. It still uses a dormitory set up style.

Ponesai Vanhu Children’s Home
Donate nowPonesai Vanhu Children’s Home PVCH) was stabled in 1994 in order to provide children who are homeless, orphaned and living in the street, with shelter, basic education and other every day necessities to secure their personal, social, practical and academic development, so that they can grow up creating a stable and good future for themselves and their communities. In essence, it is a rehabilitating center where these children and young people are holistically rehabilitated into responsible, reliable and refocused youth (R4Youth) ready to fit in the mainstream society and survive the prevailing harsh economic environment in the country. For Refocusing, the home wants to mold children and youths to be entrepreneurial and not to focus on getting formal employment which is very difficult to obtain due to the high level of competition against few available opportunities. To this end, PVCH want to establish a Horticulture Training Hub to train children and youth into agripreneurship, as a low hanging livelihoods option given that the country is agro-based, to the children and youth preparing for weaning off. The Horticulture Training Hub will be a commercial demonstration and training site, where the youth and children from PVCH will get practical horticulture training, producing adequate high value crops to the satisfaction that they are ready to survive by practicing horticulture as a livelihood option, before they are reintegrated back to their community. The crops will be sold and proceeds used to train others thus ensuring sustainability. The Horticulture Hub will use the existing garden of 0.5ha that was fenced by Instatol. What is now required is US$10,000 to drill a solar powered borehole, a 10000L water tank and climate smart drip irrigation system. This is a life changing initiative to bring life-skills to vulnerable children and Youth for their living and bring development to their communities.

Rose of Sharon Welfare Organization
Donate nowFounded in 2004 by Dr. Fatima Maruta, Rose of Sharon Welfare Organization (PVO 3/2004) is a faith-driven non-profit dedicated to transforming the lives of orphans and vulnerable children through shelter, nutrition, healthcare, quality education, and skills development. Guided by the values of love, dignity, and empowerment, our mission is to nurture abandoned, orphaned, and neglected children into responsible, self-reliant, and purpose-driven citizens. Currently, we provide holistic care for over 176 children across four orphanages and operate a high school and primary school to ensure their access to education and equal opportunity.
To enhance our impact, we are seeking US$10,000 to purchase a multipurpose truck that will enable us to mobilize resources, transport food supplies, school materials, and donations, and facilitate emergency response for the children under our care. The truck will significantly reduce transport costs, ensure timely delivery of critical resources, and improve our outreach to rural and underserved communities. Beyond logistics, this investment will directly impact the lives of hundreds of vulnerable children, ensuring consistent access to nutrition, clothing, and educational support while strengthening our ability to respond to urgent needs. With this truck, we will not only sustain daily operations but also create a lifeline that secures dignity, stability, and hope for the children we serve.

The home is appealing for donors and well wishers to help in constructing a fowl run so as to start an income generating project of rearing road runner chicks which will help in children’s nutrition and for raising money to cater for repairs and salaries for caregivers. Sevaca
Donate nowFounded in 2000 by Hlengwe-Shangaan women in Sengwe, Chiredzi District, SEVACA (Sengwe Vulnerable Children Advocacy) is a community-based organization working to uplift rural communities affected by drought, poverty, and HIV/AIDS. For over two decades, SEVACA has provided school fees, food aid, and emotional support to orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs), and is now shifting focus toward skills development and sustainable livelihoods as these children transition into adulthood. To support this next phase, SEVACA is launching a $10,500 Chicken Project that will offer hands-on poultry farming training, create a sustainable source of nutrition and income for vulnerable youth and their caregivers, and strengthen community resilience to poverty and food insecurity. Your support will help SEVACA establish a small-scale poultry unit and continue its mission of building dignity, opportunity, and resilience in remote Chiredzi.

SHEKINAH GLORY CHILDREN’S HOME
Donate nowShekinah Glory is a registered PVO 23/18 and operating in Zvishavane District, Zimbabwe. Shekinah established the first and only Children’s Home in Zvishavane District in May 2017. Our mission is to provide care and protection for vulnerable children while promoting access to education, offering a safe and nurturing environment for those who are orphaned, abandoned, or victims of abuse. Guided by values of compassion, integrity, and holistic child development, our vision is to empower the young generation through education and child protection. Currently, Shekinah Glory Children’s Home has a capacity of 20 children, with 17 already in foster care, leaving only three available spaces. As the only children’s home in Zvishavane, this limited capacity presents a serious challenge as more vulnerable children, including victims of sexual abuse, urgently require shelter and protection. To respond to this need, we seek to apply for $10,000 to build a new cluster house that will expand our accommodation capacity. This additional housing unit will ensure the continued provision of a safe, supportive, and permanent home for children in urgent need.

Simukai Child Protection Programme
Donate nowSimukai Child Protection Programme (Simukai CPP) is a registered Zimbabwean PVO (PVO27/12) dedicated to safeguarding and empowering vulnerable children and young people through protection, education, psychosocial support, and sustainable livelihoods. Over the years, Simukai has established safe shelters and places of safety in Mutare and Chipinge that provide temporary care and protection for children at risk, particularly unaccompanied and separated minors. In response to the current emergency project on the repatriation of children on the move to their countries and areas of origin, Simukai has experienced a significant rise in demand for safe and dignified shelter. To ensure that every child is accommodated with dignity and comfort, there is an urgent need to furnish its places of safety with 25 single beds and the corresponding bedding, as well as 4 gas stoves and 4 gas tanks to support the preparation of meals in the Places of Safety. This campaign seeks to raise USD 10,000 to meet these critical needs, enabling Simukai to continue offering a safe, nurturing, and child-sensitive environment for displaced children while they await family tracing, reunification, and reintegration. Your support will directly contribute to the well-being and protection of children in crisis, ensuring that their basic needs are met with compassion and care.

St Marcellin Children’s Village

St Marcellin Children’s Village provides comprehensive care to vulnerable children offering basic human needs and a safe and nurturing environment.
To ensure the sustainability of the Village, the organization seeks to raise $10 000 to refurbish our existing chicken, fish and rabbit facilities. These projects will not only ensure the children in our care are receiving well balanced meals, but also generate income for the running costs of the Village.

St Tabeth Children’s Home
Donate nowSt Tabeth Children’s Home is a registered Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO 13/2015) in Chidoma, dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and permanent home for orphaned and vulnerable children in the Gokwe district.
Our mission is to ensure every child has access to comprehensive care, including shelter, nutrition, education, and emotional support, within a loving, family-oriented environment. We are committed to fostering self-reliance and sustainability, not only for the children we serve but also for the home’s long-term future.
To achieve this, we are seeking $8,000 to fund two critical social enterprise projects: a poultry project and a market garden project. The poultry initiative will involve constructing a modern fowl run and acquiring chicks and feed, allowing us to generate income from egg and meat sales while providing a sustainable source of protein for the children.
Simultaneously, the market garden project will see the establishment of a permaculture garden, supplying fresh vegetables for the home and a surplus to be sold at local markets. These initiatives are designed to create a consistent, reliable income stream, reducing our dependence on fluctuating external donations and empowering St. Tabeth to become a self-sufficient pillar of the community, ensuring the children’s well-being for years to come.

SUZ-Thuthuka Project
Donate nowScripture Union Zimbabwe -Thuthuka established in 1995, is a project of Scripture Union Zimbabwe. It is located in Bulawayo Province where it works with children and young people living and working on the streets. The project’s core business is to get in touch with children and young people living and working on the streets with the idea of building relationships with them, aiming at reuniting them with their families and reintegrating them in communities, assisting them to reach their potential. Scripture Union Zimbabwe believes that no child should live on the streets, hence it coordinates an array of activities assisting children move off the streets, equipping and empowering them to improve their social skills and facilitate their inclusion. It supports them post street life to build resilience so that they do not relapse back and are able to be sustained within family environments and alternative care.
Sustainability of these programs is critical as the approach is holistic and therefore requires tailor made solutions for each individual. The project is looking out to raise $9500.00 to set up a Green House of 400m2 and its inputs. The production of various crops for the market will enhance resources for continuity of the project and the costs associated with the welfare of the target group. Further, part of the produce will also be used for nutrition purposes for children and young people and serve as a look and learn to them such that they can replicate farming for their sustenance and as a career in respective communities.
