  Chinyaradzo Children’s home

  Chinyaradzo Children’s Home provides residential care for at least 60 children, ranging from birth to 18 years old. The Home was designed to provide temporary shelter for children while alternative arrangements were being made. This includes reintegration with the extended family members and arrangements for foster care. The home spearheads foster care programs in close liaison with the Department of Social Welfare. However, because of the increasing number of orphans and their needs, coupled with economic hardships, alternative places of committal are no longer easily available. As a result, children have found themselves living at Chinyaradzo Children’s Home for all eighteen years of their lives. Therefore, to respond strategically to the needs of these children, the purpose of the Home was reviewed. Chinyaradzo now exists to provide a permanent Home to children in difficult circumstances from ages 0-18.

  Ekhaya Kip Keino Children’s Home

  Khaya Kip Keino Children’s Home was founded by accomplished Zimbabwean athletes – Patrick Masina, Stewart Mudokwani, and Zibusiso Nyoni, who were inspired by the humanitarian legacy of Kipchoge Keino of Kenya, who placed Kenya on the international map of ‘Track and Field’ athletics. What began as a vision to create a training facility for young athletes evolved into a sanctuary for children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS pandemic and other life challenges in 1997. Today, we are a beacon of hope, providing care, education, and opportunities to needy children.

  Bonda Children’s Home

  Bonda Mission Children’s Home is an institution that was founded by the Community of the Holy Transfiguration situated at St. David’s Bonda Mission in 1992. It is within the Anglican Diocese of Manicaland. Bonda Children’s Home is a private voluntary organisation and is located at Bonda Mission in Mutasa District of Manicaland Province of Zimbabwe. The day-to-day running is managed by Anglican Sisters with the support of the Mission religious leaders. Currently the home is housing 15 children, 7 boys, 8 girls.

  The Home caters for children, starting a the age of 5 with the maximum retention age of 18 years. All the children brought to the Home come through the Department of Social Development. The mandate of the Home is to give due care to all children in care making sure they are safe and attended to.

  Objectives

  • To receive and retain children in need of care.
  • Providing safe shelter, food, clothing, and other necessities for children in care.
  • Provision of parental guidance and counseling to the children in care.
  • Provide psychosocial support to children in care.
  • Imparting various life skills to children.
  • Facilitating children’s education and ensuring that they remain healthy.
