The Action Foundation
The Action Foundation empowers caregivers, teachers, and institutions to nurture and support children, women, and girls with disabilities by providing them with psychosocial support, skills, and resources needed to effectively care for children with disabilities. Their interventions improve access to health care, education, and economic empowerment through direct service provision and strengthening the capacity of existing education, health systems, and networks.
The Action Foundation serves the major informal settlements of Nairobi including Kibera, Mukuru, Mathare, and Kawangware and partners with schools in all eight regions of the country.

Chinyaradzo Children’s home
Donate nowChinyaradzo Children’s Home provides residential care for at least 60 children, ranging from birth to 18 years old. The Home was designed to provide temporary shelter for children while alternative arrangements were being made. This includes reintegration with the extended family members and arrangements for foster care. The home spearheads foster care programs in close liaison with the Department of Social Welfare. However, because of the increasing number of orphans and their needs, coupled with economic hardships, alternative places of committal are no longer easily available. As a result, children have found themselves living at Chinyaradzo Children’s Home for all eighteen years of their lives. Therefore, to respond strategically to the needs of these children, the purpose of the Home was reviewed. Chinyaradzo now exists to provide a permanent Home to children in difficult circumstances from ages 0-18.

Children in Distress (CINDI) Kitwe Trust
Donate nowChildren In Distress (CINDI) is reducing the vulnerability of children and their caregivers by empowering households and communities in peri-urban areas around Kitwe.
Their programming includes an early childhood development (ECD) centre and training caregivers on in-home-based ECD practices as well as providing educational support to children at primary, secondary, and tertiary levels. They also provide access to vocational training for livelihood support.

Chambuta Children’s Home
Donate nowChambuta children’s Home is a government founded Home located in Chilonga, Chiredzi North district of Masvingo Province. The Home was a former refugee camp established in 1988 to shelter Mozambican refugees displaced by civil war in that country. When they returned to their country, the Government converted it into a children’s Home. The Home was established as a suitable place to provide shelter to children living and working on the streets of the various towns in the country. As part of imparting skills, the home has a running vocational training scheme which provides skills to children from the Home and from the community. Currently the home is housing 60 children, 40 in Primary and 20 in Secondary School.
