  Christ Ministries Children’s Home

  Christ Ministries Children’s Home is situated in Belvedere, operating under Christ Ministries Church. The Home looks after orphaned and vulnerable children. It is registered with the ministry of labour and social welfare.

  CMCH aims to empower the disadvantaged children spiritually, physically, emotionally, economically, socially, and academically through provision of a strong social support system.

  Objectives

  • To promote child welfare through:
  • Providing shelter for orphans and vulnerable children.
  • Ensuring that children receive parental care, love, and guidance.
  • Providing necessities such as food and clothes.
  • Grooming children into responsible, independent and life skills-equipped adults.
  • Providing a strong Christian base for our children.

  Chiredzi Christian Children’s Home

  Chiredzi Christian Children’s Village was registered in 2002 as a church institution to take care of OVCs. The institution is under the administration of Hippo Valley Christian Mission which is a Christian Organization based in the United States of America. Chiredzi Christian Children’s Village is among seven registered orphanages in Masvingo Province. The institution is situated in Chiredzi urban at stand 3241 Tsovani Township. Chiredzi is an agro-based town, and its existence has been made possible through Hippo Valley, Triangle and Mkwasine estates. The institution has 80 OVCs out of about 5000 institutionalised OVCs nationwide according to the Ministry of services welfare. Its main goal when it was founded was to take care of those children who were completely destitute and abandoned. This was the only institution in the district at that period. Now there are two orphanages in the district. Currently it houses 51 children and it is making sure that they are living well whilst trying to equip them for the future.

  Bonda Children’s Home

  Bonda Mission Children’s Home is an institution that was founded by the Community of the Holy Transfiguration situated at St. David’s Bonda Mission in 1992. It is within the Anglican Diocese of Manicaland. Bonda Children’s Home is a private voluntary organisation and is located at Bonda Mission in Mutasa District of Manicaland Province of Zimbabwe. The day-to-day running is managed by Anglican Sisters with the support of the Mission religious leaders. Currently the home is housing 15 children, 7 boys, 8 girls.

  The Home caters for children, starting a the age of 5 with the maximum retention age of 18 years. All the children brought to the Home come through the Department of Social Development. The mandate of the Home is to give due care to all children in care making sure they are safe and attended to.

  Objectives

  • To receive and retain children in need of care.
  • Providing safe shelter, food, clothing, and other necessities for children in care.
  • Provision of parental guidance and counseling to the children in care.
  • Provide psychosocial support to children in care.
  • Imparting various life skills to children.
  • Facilitating children’s education and ensuring that they remain healthy.
